Wightlink is the leading cross-Solent ferry operator, carrying 4.2 million passengers to and from the Isle of Wight every year. Eight ferries on three routes complete more than 140 sailings a day across our three routes, giving Islanders an easy and frequent service to mainland Hampshire and visitors an easy way to enjoy a taste of Island life.
We have more ferries on more routes running more often than any other cross-Solent service.
Having introduced its new environmentally-friendly ferry – Victoria of Wight – in August 2018, Wightlink is proud to be heralding a new, greener era of travel between the Isle of Wight and the mainland. As a hybrid energy ship that runs partly on electricity, Victoria of Wight offers greener crossings across the Solent.
With rail connections at Portsmouth Harbour and Lymington Pier meaning customers can step directly onto Wightlink’s ports from a train, getting to the Isle of Wight could not be easier. FastCat passengers can step off the train at Portsmouth Harbour, hop on a Wightlink FastCat and be on the Island in just 22 minutes, while our car ferries take around 40 minutes from Portsmouth and Lymington.
On board, passengers and drivers alike can relax in the spacious lounges and enjoy some refreshments before arriving on the Island to enjoy the range of attractions, events and experiences that make the Isle of Wight a leading destination for tourists.
Wightlink has a long and proud history of supporting visitors and local people. We work closely with the tourism organisation Visit Isle of Wight to promote the Island as one of the UK’s top visitor attractions.
Closer to home, the company backs Island charities, arts groups and sports teams to the tune of £350,000 a year through it’s Wightlink in the Community project.
